Parks Board urged to favor area parks over Cascade Park
Elyria city council members pressed the Parks and Recreation Board to de-emphasize Cascade Park and favor area parks like West Park and South Park. The board offered no comment at a joint meeting. They plan to turn the Lodi entrance into a pedestrian walkway to save about 967,000 in repairs. Federal storm aid of 64,500 plus 20,000 is expected, mostly to repay sewage plant debt, with Cascade's share likely two thirds for the plant.
