Big Beef Crop To Hit Market Later This Autumn
Agricultural economists at Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station predict a bigger beef crop this autumn. If realised, retail beef prices may drop several cents. Dr. Marvin Smith and Dr. George Henning see lower fat cattle prices due to more cattle marketed, while September and October shipments may not rise as quickly. Feeder cattle prices are expected to stay high this fall and remain elevated for about eight months.
