Davey refutes charges of political interference in relief and pensions
Governor Martin L. Davey denied claims that politics influenced poor relief and old age pension administration. He sent a letter to the Cleveland Plain Dealer disputing editorials and praising Henry J. Berrodin for enforcing the law while criticizing Republican county officials for turning pension policy into a political football. He challenged the editor to consider whether his critiques stem from incomplete reports or a deliberate attack on the Ohio governor.

On August 3 a group of 72 enjoyed a bountiful dinner at Leon. Officers at the business meeting included Harry Martin as president and Burl Martin as vice president, with Ethel Sheer of Cleveland as secretary-treasurer. Miss Mildred Bartter was historian, and Ruth Byers of Cleveland read a long paper titled Who's Who detailing member names, families, and occupations. Further items mention vacation plans, visitors, local arrivals, and the Olmsted Falls Home Coming slated for August 10 11 amid heavy rains delaying threshing.
