Women Lead Music Plan for Eucharistic Congress in Cleveland
The June 9 mass meeting at Congress headquarters will outline the women’s role for Cleveland’s Eucharistic Congress, Sept 26. Bishop Schrembs appointed Mrs Eugene McCarthy as general chair with six deanery assistants and district meetings planned in Akron Youngstown Canton Painesville and Lorain. The effort includes mobilizing parish choruses training nuns to coach choirs and training acolytes and flower girls for the Thursday processional while Sisters class members paint 120 shields for diocesan altars. Oberlin Graduate Dies In 91st Year
Oberlin College’s oldest living alumna Elizabeth Kinney Rice, 91, died at her Cleveland home. A Oberlin native and 1862 graduate, she married Rev. W H Rice in 1864, was active in Pilgrim Church, and became a supersaint on her 90th birthday. She is survived by two daughters and two sons.
