Tragic Rail Accident Claims Two Grafton Workers
Two section gang workers in Grafton Ohio were killed when struck by an eastbound express train three miles east of town. John Fiedens and Albert Noster died at the scene after the air tamping machine they were using perhaps drowned out the approaching train. Four coworkers escaped. Fiedens leaves a wife and daughter, Noster a large family, both long residents of Grafton and active in local churches.

Lindberghs Land At Point Barrow In Arctic Welcome
Colonel and Mrs Charles A Lindbergh landed their monoplane in a Point Barrow lagoon after a foggy 6 1/2 hour flight from Aklavik. The couple, en route to Japan, were greeted by about 250 Eskimos and eight white residents as natives waved flags and boarded shin boats. The stop followed a three day weather delay and left them cheerful to reach the Arctic settlement.

Passenger liner hits rock near Santos
