Wellington area disaster HQ eyed at WHS and other village notes
Wellington High School could serve as disaster headquarters with National Guard approval for floods tornadoes or other emergencies. James McGlamery outlined location near Route 58 and ample helicopter landing space. Village council prepared dust reduction plans on six streets at an estimated cost of 5000 and set a split vote on 15 cent per hour raises for two street department workers. Proposals included adding items to a library auction and new police specials were sworn in. Wellington School Board will appoint a Westwood Elementary principal, and staff changes include Lisa Manning assisting WHS Band flag bearers.
