Lutheran leaders see glimmer of new day in ecumenical talks

Philadelphia leaders of Roman Catholic Episcopal and Lutheran churches foresee an end to the lovers quarrel that has divided factions since the Reformation. Cardinal Baum Rev Marshall and others called for unity while noting the price. A protest interrupted Marshall briefly.

A 16 year educator she was most recently principal at St Michael School Cleveland for seven years. Churches in Angola face distress where war rages in central regions

Ministers patrol streets to aid police in Grove City

Rev Robert Newhard leads 14 ministers on Friday and Saturday nights patrolling Grove City with police. They seek to help crime victims, counsel victims and officers, ride in cruisers, and support the community. The program aims to use the talent the Lord gave them to improve their city.

Revival to be held by Elyria Outreach Ministry at church

The Outreach Ministry of Elyria will host a city wide revival from tomorrow through August 29 at 7 40 p m nightly at the Original Church of God open to the public Evangelist Charles L Kennedy of Tampa Fla and other ministers lead the program which aims to calm tensions and direct people to the Lord Volunteer chaplains will be available around the clock for serious incidents and to support police as community helpers The Rev Newhard emphasizes serving both police and community and notes the program benefits morale and understanding during challenging times.

Gideons Face Bible Theft and Donations Worldwide

Gideons International says theft of Bibles from motel and hospital nightstands is common but not troubling. President Dave Hofer Jr. notes recipients sometimes donate five or ten dollars after taking a Bible. The group has distributed about 150 million Bibles or New Testaments since its founding, roughly one million copies monthly last year, with about 20 percent taken from motels and 39 percent from hospitals. local members replace missing copies.
