Shootout ends escapees' spree in Connecticut
In Somers Connecticut a state trooper recognized two bankrobbing prison escapees after a pre dawn escape from a Tennessee prison. A chase ended when Prentice was killed and Hartsock wounded as a police car pursuit followed a van through Route 83. A third inmate remained at large and a search extended into north central Connecticut.
