National weather forecast warns of thunderstorms along the Atlantic Coast states and part of the Gulf region and southern Plains. Elsewhere, sunny and warm conditions prevail. Southeast remains unsettled with showers and possible thundershowers through Monday. Northwestern areas turn partly cloudy tonight and Monday. Highs mainly in the 70s. lows in the 60s. Modesto DJ Rides Elevator For Muscular Dystrophy Fund
In Modesto California AP reports KTRB disc jockey Kenny Roberts spent two weeks confined in an elevator to raise money for muscular dystrophy. Station announcer Ron Richards says Roberts collected about 700 in donations and earned five minutes off each hour during the stunt.
