City council funds gas rate fight with five thousand

Boy Drowns After Raft Incident At Black River Camp
Earl Mahlke nine-year-old son of Mr and Mrs George Mahlke of Oberlin was pulled from the muddy Black River near the Duck Pond road camp and pronounced dead. His friend Phillip Dittoe of 348 South Professor street Oberlin said they built a raft from driftwood and borrowed nails and a hammer while playing at the site. Salesman Dies in Lackawanna NY Hospital
Claude W. Lewis 46 of 111 Marseilles avenue died in a Lackawanna NY hospital from injuries in an automobile crash near the city. Fred W. Tite 54 of 225 Hamilton avenue, a local meat dealer, suffered minor injuries. The accident, en route to Canada for a fishing trip, left the road and struck an abutment. Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Tite departed for Lackawanna after hearing the news. Lewis, a longtime Armour Packing Co. meat salesman, had lived in Elyria and is survived by his wife and daughter Murial.
