Elyria Pioneer Football Preview Faces Strong 2003 Season
Elyria High School fields a veteran defense led by senior linebacker David Conley and senior defensive tackle Bristol Sweatt as they prepare for 2003 under coach Dick Kerschbaum. Key players Griffin Knapp at quarterback and Joe Russo at tight end, along with a deep line and core backs, aim to power an offense balanced by a potential outside game. The Pioneers seek a playoff push in a newly realigned schedule with August 22 opener at North Olmsted and a heavy nonconference slate, while stressing defensive strength and depth across 52 newcomers.
