Five dead in Challis Idaho plane crash near fire

A chartered light aircraft crashed in the Mortar Creek area of Challis National Forest five of the six aboard were killed. The crash sparked another fire near the Mortar Creek blaze as smokejumpers and emergency crews were dispatched. Two smokejumpers sustained leg injuries while jumping to the site. The chartered flight was from Boise to a back country float trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Identifications were not released.

Reward Offered by Spitzer Brothers in Village Robbery

Blessing Planned for Former X-rated Motel in Albuquerque

A Catholic priest and a Presbyterian minister will lead a Sunday blessing at the Adobe Village in Albuquerque. The former Zuni Lodge, once tied to vice and knifings, will reopen as a three acre shopping center with 50 shops and five restaurants. Mary Martin, Adobe Village manager, says the rite aims to shed the propertys X rated image.
