Parents Choose Home Schooling in Pursuit of Faith and Discipline
Jacqueline Cross began teaching without a degree and earned a theology oriented bachelor's in church min istries while raising children. Michael Cross, a retired Air Force member, holds engineering and business degrees. The family cites drive and discipline as outcomes, with siblings pursuing college and jobs. Public school failures to educate black children are criticized by Joyce Burges, who helped found the National Black Home Educators Resource Association.
