Oberlin Public Library schedules pajama story hours on Monday evenings through August 17. Each 7 p.m. half hour session invites two and three year olds with a parent to hear picture books nursery rhymes fingerplays and lullabies for bedtime. Call 775-8601 for details.
The Friends of Harbourtown sponsor a benefit style show Thursday night at the Old School House 995 State St Vermilion to aid maintenance and restoration. The event features Diane Camera presenting One year in the world of fashion month by month with Ted Jacobs fashions. Twelve Vermilion residents including the 1987 Vermilion Fish Festival Queen model teen to plus sizes. Floyd Heys will play the organ. Dessert with a $5 admission. Door prizes from local merchants. Tickets at the door or through Music Box Halls 9674744. Diane Chestnut, organizer, urged advance tickets to help setup and dessert prep.
Court reports list several Elyria Lorain County cases. Charles Starcher of 282 Boston Ave faces driving under suspension with a $1000 fine and six months jail plus three years license plates surrender. Humberto Riveria of 2933 Grove Ave has driving under suspension with $350 and 120 days jail, plus suspensions and good behavior term. Richard Butowski of 652 Washington Ave charged with reckless operation, $100 fine and 120 days driving suspension in LOCC program. Brian McGrath of 638 Cambridge Ave Elyria charged with disorderly conduct, $150 and 10 days jail suspended for one year. Noel Cash of 420 13th St no operator's license, $350 and 30 days jail suspended. John Ratcil of 15054 Diagonal Act LaGrange faces DUI with $500 and 30 days jail, 10 days absolute, remaining jail suspended and 120 days driving suspension. Another driving under suspension entry with $100 and 30 days jail, five days absolute, balance suspended.
