Indians Trade Revisited Three For Six In 1937 Debacle
The piece reviews a 1937 six player deal between the Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Browns, highlighting the fate of three traded players Joe Vosmik Oral Hildebrand and Bill Knickerbocker. It notes Vosmik thrived with the Boston Red Sox, Hildebrand and Knickerbocker later joined the New York Yankees, while Solters Lary and Lyn were waivered to other teams. The author estimates the Indians received $40,000 in value for the trio, underscoring perceived management folly.
