Gary Eugene Edwards 74 of Wellington died July 17 2024 at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital after a lifetime of service to church family and community. He served in the Army two tours in Vietnam and later worked as a lineman for ESS and announced local sports for Channel 12. He is survived by wife Sheila children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life is set for August 17 2024 at Perfecting of the Saints Tabernacle Wellington Ohio. Condolences at Norton Eastman Funeral Home.

Dorothy Jean Mitiska nee Loede 95 of Amherst died July 29 2024 at New Life Hospice Center after a long life. Born in Cleveland OH July 24 1929 she attended Bay Village High School and Cleveland College. She married Richard in 1951 and raised three sons in Amherst. A homemaker active in St Paul Lutheran Church she sang and directed the choir for over 20 years and taught Ladies Bible Studies. Survived by sons Roger Allen Dale Joseph and Gary Allen grandchildren Shawn David Kimberly Lynn and Patricia Ann and many relatives. Preceded in death by husband Richard Arthur 2019 parents Henry and Louis Loede and sister Lois Schneider. Visitation Tuesday Aug 13 2024 4 pm with Celebration of Life 6 pm at Hempel Funeral Home Amherst OH. Graveside service Wed Aug 14 2024 11 am Rugby Cemetery Brownhelm Twp OH followed by a reception at Vermilion Evangelical Reformed Church. Rebroadcasts at hempelfuneralhome com. Francine Pascal the New York writer who created Sweet Valley High died July 28 in Manhattan at age 92 from lymphoma. The prolific author built a fiction empire from 1983 to 2003 with twin sisters Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield and later spin offs while writing for TV soap operas and other works. Survivors include two daughters Laurie Wenk Pascal and Susan Johansson, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
