Elyria City Council voted to petition state hearings for renewals of Ely's Inn and the T and A Bar and Grill after police logged 82 calls combined since January. The move targets problem bars downtown and reflects broader efforts to curb disturbances in the area.

GRAFTON officers will conduct a joint training drill at Grafton Correctional Institution at 8 a.m. lasting three to four hours. Spokeswoman Gwynette Shaw said the exercise will occur on prison grounds and should not disrupt traffic on Route 83.
