Munson Dies In Canton Jet Crash
Thurman Munson, star Yankees catcher, 32, killed when his private jet crashed near Akron Canton Regional Airport during takeoff practice. Co-pilot David Hall and passenger Jerry Anderson survived. Munson had moved to Canton to be with family and had just earned a pilot’s license. The deaths drew tributes from team owner George Steinbrenner and Commissioner Bowie Kuhn as details emerged.

Settlement Reaches 3.7 Million For Girl Wounded By Transformer
A Pasadena two year old girl will receive at least 3.7 million dollars in a district court settlement after losing both arms in a high voltage transformer incident March 15 at Treelane Apartments Houston. Defendants include General Electric Co Houston Lighting and Power and the complex owner operator. The agreement limits the apartments and management to 3.7 million toward a total award of five million if other defendants pay.
