Area twins gather at Twins Day fest in Twinsburg
The Twins Day festival draws diverse families led by Laura and Linda Seber of Elyria, both 22, who cherish the event after two decades of attendance. Queens of the Royal Court include Margaret Swaney and Louise Michal. The gathering records 2,250 registrants by Saturday, with 2,798 max in 1995 and a goal to surpass 3,000. Dove hunting ban moves closer to Ohio ballot
The Ohio secretary of state ruled that petition mounts by Save the Doves are valid for full amendment wording to end dove hunting, while parts removing doves from game birds were invalid. If approved, dove hunting would be illegal as the amendment supersedes the game birds law. Ohioans for Wildlife Preservation plans court action. Save the Doves aims to keep the measure on the ballot.
