Lorain condo plans clash with lakefront hotel

Lorain attorney Dennis M. O'Toole says he will build a 22.5 million high rise condominium at 125 Alabama Avenue on the lakefront, a block from a proposed 10.6 million Lighthouse Landings hotel. He has enlisted an architect and a second builder and expects a cost estimate within 30 to 45 days before seeking permits. He reiterates plans mirror a 1984 lakefront development including a 90 unit tower at Lakeside and California and a 1.2 million marina, noting the project would conflict with the hotel plan on the same block. The city has suggested moving the hotel one block east to fit the Port Authority plan.
