Germany election leaves Hitler tied as power grows

In the German reichstag vote no clear winner emerged with Adolf Hitler and Kurt von Schleicher earning roughly equal honors. Hitler’s NSDAP doubled seats to about 230 of 600 while von Schleicher remains the strongest figure behind a nonpartisan government. The Left surged with Socialists and Communists gaining ground as conservatives still run affairs. Lausanne talks helped deter a full Hitler victory and hinted at a Von Papen–Von Schleicher continuation, with potential light concessions to Hitler. A clear path to centralized rule remains elusive amid rising radicalism and a cautious electorate.
