Regional jail plan eyed by Lucas and neighboring counties
Northwest Ohio officials seek quick action on a 16.5 million regional jail system to replace substandard facilities. A 14.4 million jail near Toledo would serve five counties with four satellite holding facilities. Toledo would contribute 42 percent of building costs, Lucas 37 percent, with state funds urged to rise from 50 million total for jail projects.
