Texan Traces Fiery Red Flag Of Comanches
Mrs. Mary Jordan Atkinson reports discovery of a seventh national flag in Texas from University of Texas archives. She says the sun worshiping Comanches used a blood red banner centuries before missionaries. The piece surveys flag history from French exploration to Spain and Mexico rule, independence in 1836, and Civil War loyalties.
