Avon Lake honors Civil War veterans 145 years after the conflict with government headstones for Private Charles McClelland Private Orlando Moore and Private Selden Payne. A ceremony at Lake Shore Cemetery features a 21 gun salute, speeches and color presentation with reenactors in period uniforms. Moore fought with the 164th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and the 2nd Ohio Cavalry.
