Dr Robert Mayer promotes the transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator or TENS as a post operative pain relief device. The device uses two electrodes to deliver electrical stimulation that can reduce pain by 70 to 80 percent for many patients, potentially cutting opioid use and speeding recovery.
