Mexican rebels sit across the border while U S forces receive ammunition in anticipation of an imminent clash. Villa meets with insurgents as federal troops clash in Chihuahua driving rebels from towns. Mexico City reports riot conditions as unrest spreads.
American cruisers Salem and Sacramento beached at Mazatlan and Tampico amid calls for protection of lives and property. Reports from Juarez and Chihuahua City describe border tensions, loyalty movements, and revolts involving Carranza forces, with General Calles forecasting further mobilizations toward Guerrero and Mexico City.
Samuel H. Squire governor of Ohio Rotarians addressed the Kiwanis club at the Gates Hospital about Rotary clubs in Ohio aiding crippled children. Edw F Arras, slated as speaker, missed the meeting due to Interchurch movement duties in Lorain. Marriage licenses issued: Mihalyt and Talmacs. Simms and Kolb. Sender and Goreka. Woods and Lechner. Gardner and Barber.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer ceases its seven o'clock edition in this city. The Ohio All State edition arrives at eleven and offers little news not in the Chronicle Telegram. Through leased wire from Associated Press the Chronicle Telegram provides the latest world news not in other papers and offers stock and produce quotations twelve hours ahead.
Interchurch World Movement campaign in Elyria held at the YMCA drew strong turnout. Geo Chamberlain chairs, with L. B. Hindman directing county efforts. The $365000 goal has substantial progress and aims to broaden community participation beyond church members.
H W Ingersoll president of the Ohio Milk Dealers Association attended a meeting of producers and milk distributors at Hotel Winton in Cleveland. Dealers offered 30 cents a gallon for May milk while producers demanded 31 1/2 cents. The meeting ended unsatisfactorily for the producers and Ingersoll warned that farmers may have to milk their own cows if a fair price is not paid.
The green line streetcar tracks are being leveled for summer travel after frost raised them. Workers bond sections to reduce electrolysis and improve ride. The yellow line right of way is also undergoing repairs, reportedly in worse condition than the green line.
In Ohio and New Jersey results Harding trails Wood for delegates to the Republican national convention. Daugherty, Harding’s candidate for delegate at large, trails by 891 with 126 precincts to report. Wood leads in most Harding districts as returns come in and a majority of delegates appear pledged to Harding or Wood. In Ohio 39 to 42 of 48 delegates likely Harding pledged, with Wood gaining in several districts. New Jersey shows Wood leading Johnson with 672 votes as 53 districts remain.
In New Jersey Essex Morris and Gloucester counties a recount was announced after Senator Johnson of California led by only a few hundred votes in the preferential primary. Major General Wood heads Johnson's campaign as the vote tally continues. In Siberia the Nipponese and Kamden counties advance unopposed occupying Saghalin Island's northern coast as relief effort moves toward Nixolaevsk district.
Paris newspapers announce a unanimous decision to raise the prices of daily editions. The move reflects rising costs faced by publishers and affects readership across the city.
A head on collision between Chicago and Northwestern passenger trains 616 and 517 near Sanborn Minnesota killed five and injuring twelve. Killed were crew from Winona Minnesota including conductor Edward Fuller engineer C Larson and fireman A Pelts. The wreck occurred two miles from Lamberton as trains failed to pass at Sanborn due to misread orders.
Toledo police probe after a plumber found a headless and armless baby’s body buried in the cellar of an unoccupied house. Detectives concluded the child had been buried there recently and began a homicide investigation.

The Highway Construction Co. started rushing work on West and East avenues this morning to finish paving quickly. West avenue has been torn up since last fall with part of the street closed all winter. The final section from Broad Street to Second Street is now torn up and old pavement is being stripped for the new.

District Grand Jury weighs indictments amid a broad rail strike affecting New York New Jersey and Cleveland areas. Union workers demand 90 cents an hour while Youngstown faces widespread disruption as a 24 hour French strike is discussed for permanency.

A Logan Gas Co field man says Grafton will receive natural gas and mentions a booster station is needed for nearby wells. He notes Grafton may be the last area to be piped for gas for some time due to high costs.
