President Roosevelt convened seven top recovery officials to finalize a division of progress under the work relief plan. The program aims to spend 11 million dollars daily to create seven million jobs and end direct relief by July 1, 1936, with a nationwide radio briefing to follow.

The Elyria Chamber of Commerce formed an Industrial Development Committee and elected J. B. Johnson of Ohio Public Service Co as chairman. Members include Alex Altfeld Earl Beil L. B. Fauer Max Goldstein A C Hudnutt J R Huffman Ralph Murbach C B Smythe W B Timms and Mayor W H Vanoster. The group will pursue keeping existing plants, attracting new ones, and providing buildings to attract firms to Elyria while noting manufacturing supports many local families.
Paris reports anger over four alleged illegal German flights above the frontier fortifications. French air ministry warns combat planes will force down intruders. Anti-aircraft shots will warn first, with pursed aircraft to follow but not cross into German airspace. The measures aim to protect secrecy of the vast Alsace Moselle defense works intertwined underground with steel and concrete fortifications. Paul Bossier age 34 a Jackson druggist died when his car left the road near Chillicothe Ohio on April 14. Authorities believe he may have fallen asleep at the wheel as he drove.
G T Landrum enforcement officer for the city drain tile authority dismissed a complaint alleging certain firms sold non compliant materials. In a letter to the commission he said subsequent checks show the Eiska firms bidding on county work complied with the codes.
Akron officials scoured the North Reservoir today to recover more of the 124000 dollars looted in a Warren mail truck robbery. About 34000 dollars in bonds and many registered letters had been recovered. 72000 dollars remained missing. Two witnesses spotted a torn mail sack drifting on the water and divers recovered bond packages.
Detroit April 26 Defeat of the American Federation of Labor in its effort to organize about 200000 workers in the automobile industry is reported from 63 plants after collective bargaining elections. Of 163150 votes, 111778 or 68.6 percent favored no union affiliation. Company unions took 21744 votes, while the A F L ran a distant third with 14057 votes. Manufacturers hailed the results as discrediting coercion charges.
Fire of undetermined origin last night damaged the home of Alfred Fritzsche Jr at 29 West Avenue. The blaze started in a blind attic over the third floor, burned through the shingle roof and damaged ceiling joists. Water damage affected furnishings despite salvage covers. total loss estimate not yet set. Fire units Hose Co 1 Engine Co 1 and Ladder Co 1 fought the blaze from 11 24 p m to 12 41 a m.
In Columbus on April 26 the Lawrence Bond Refunding bill backed by Governor Davey’s administration was defeated 34 to 31 in the Ohio House, short of the 68 votes needed. Floor Leader Uible offered a substitute bill to curb spending, while Rep. Boyd led rural members against it, arguing it would allow continued tax spending and avoid budget discipline. A letter from Cuyahoga County backed opponents, saying the measure would reduce efforts to cut government costs.
State examiners A M Hayes and David Hastings finished weeks of county records verification yesterday and are now examining Huron county records. A public findings report will be released later.

Athens Ohio ends its 11 year gas rate fight as Ohio Fuel Gas Company accepts a 48 cent average rate. The jetty relinquishes claim to 183000 dollars in impounded funds collected under a temporary schedule. The contract runs one year with a two year renewal option for the city.

A shooting of Henry J E Bolie 39 a UCLA law professor and the suicide of suspect William M Howard followed. Police investigated a man who leaped from a window then vanished in a car. A photograph found in Wharton’s rooms tied to the investigation.
Mrs. Goldie Perry of Elyria was elected chairman of the newly formed Republican Women's Club of Lorain County. About 50 women from across the county met at the Elyria Woman's Club to unite Republican women into one organization and prep for the 1986 campaign. Other officers elected included L. G. Bradstock, Wellington, first vice chair, Edith Bacon, Avon, second vice-chair, and Stella Baker, Lorain, secretary. A luncheon meeting at Over jim ain dane will feature Katharine Kennedy Brown of Dayton as guest speaker.
Governor Davey’s plan to raise the gasoline tax one cent a gallon to fund old age pensions was buried by the House taxation committee without a vote. Rep. John Q. Carey moved for the measure’s dismissal, and the committee acted after a 15 minute discussion. The House also advanced a drivers license and financial responsibility bill, with licenses issued under the registrar and a 25 cent fee.
Officials announced bids for a ditch improvement project in Avon after toner approvals. The plan includes improvements to the heating area and teams will submit bids by May 26 as part of the municipal effort to address drainage concerns.
Mrs. Marry A. Walker nee Corbett, a lifelong Lorain county resident, died Thursday at her home on Williams Street after a long illness. Born November 3, 1853 in Hopkins Michigan, she moved to Ohio young and married Joseph Walker, who preceded her in death. Survived by a large family and several siblings, services are set for Monday at the First Baptist Church Elyria with burial in Avon Cemetery. The body rests at Taylor's Funeral Home until Sunday noon, then moves to 85 Williamson Street for viewing Monday noon.
