Elyria approves Westwood Junior High boundaries
Elyria Board of Education approved permanent boundaries for the new Westwood Junior High School with minimal discussion. Superintendent Dr. Thomas L. Showalter noted the plan draws boundaries to keep students within 12 miles of their school and to minimize transportation, while allowing for anticipated growth. The plan, amid prior objections from both black and white parents and the local NAACP chapter, leaves natural boundaries where possible.
