Three Mile Island Waste Tracked Through Ohio Roads
A shipment of low level nuclear waste from the Three Mile Island site was transported via the Ohio Turnpike to Hanford Washington, passing Strongsville and several other towns. Officials say the resin-like material, in federally approved casks, poses no health hazard and is the first of 22 such shipments from the Harrisburg plant.

LCCC approves $2 credit hour tuition hike and Hardee's contract
Lorain County Community College trustees raise tuition from $16 to $18 per credit hour for most students, with out of state and out of county surcharges increasing. The college also renews a five year contract with Hardee's, budgeting $35,000 for dining area renovations and equipment, while Hardee's gross sales are projected at $325,000 for the past year. The change takes effect at the summer quarter, as faculty pay increases are discussed to offset costs.

Three men arrested in bank robbery series
An intensive ten week multiagency probe led to the arrest of Bryan Reis 19 of Lorain Lowshile 24 of Sheffield Township and Tony Hrpcha 48 of Sheffield Lake on federal bank robbery charges. They face charges for robberies at Central Trust Bank Route 254 in Sheffield Township February 27 and other February and March incidents in Sheffield Township and Lorain.

Witness testifies to multimillion drug ring links across states
Lisa Babcock testified she helped Elyria man Richard Marsico count 700000 to 800000 in cash at a Fort Lauderdale motel as part of a Florida to Elyria Columbus Canada drug pipeline. She described money trails, cocaine and marijuana parties, and said Marsico was a major dealer while naming co defendants including Jeffrey Linkous Mario Adamo and Winthrop Hong as associates.
