Dr Demento and the revival of novelty records
LA based collector Barry Hansen known as Dr Demento rose to fame in the 1970s with a syndicated novelty record show airing in 80 cities. He preserves obscure items from 1900 to the 1970s, builds a massive collection in Highland Park, and curates future albums while seeking forgotten titles like Pico and Sepulveda.
