Escape plan unfolds on foggy hill and marina
Mrs Bird leads a tense night escape with Mary and two others from a hidden house to a boat in a narrow inlet. George tests the old vessel while a ship waits offshore. The plan hinges on a double signal from Mrs Underwood, with Mary clinging to her companion as they move toward safety.
