Humpbacks Near Delisting After Recovery Across Populations
NOAA proposes removing most humpback populations from the endangered list as protections have spurred recovery over 45 years. Fourteen populations would be distinguished with ten delisted, two listed as threatened, and four remaining endangered, including groups in the Arabian Sea and Cape Verde.
