Grant plan clash over city budget for nonprofits

Township Lake Requires Fishing Licenses for Public Rowland Preserve

Elyria Township enters a 10 year agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources making fishing licenses required at the Rowland Nature Preserve Lake to preserve public access and water quality. The 12 acre lake sits in a 58 acre donated parcel from Billy Rowland, created as a public park space. Curt Wagner of the ODNR notes the partnership keeps water open to the public and helps maintain its condition.

Amherst to demolish historic town hall for patio expansion

Amherst residents may lose the 150 year old town hall as the 300 block Church Street building is slated for demolition this spring to clear room for a Brew Kettle bar patio. The Strongsville brewer plans to move into the former Church Street Bar and Grille and buy the old town hall next door, targeting a June or July reopening. J Taylor Salon currently occupies the town hall site.
