City Electrical Inspector Proposed by Council Supporters

Lorain Council Faces Power Clash Over Seats and Rate Hike
Lorain Ohio April 25. Mayor Grall and the city council faced a stalemate after council unseated Charles Heiman bailiff in Common Pleas Court. The mayor appointed George Gleason to replace Heiman, council rejected it and named Fred Parker instead. The council will seek the attorney general on authority to fill vacancies. Meanwhile Lorain County Electric asks to raise residential and commercial rates with a two cent per kilowatt surge and a monthly minimum from 50 to 1, for one year. The request was referred to the lighting and water works committee as company officials offered access to records. The present rates: first ten hours 10c per kWh, next twenty 8c, next 90 6c, next 100 4c, over 100 2.5c, with a one cent prompt-pay discount.
