A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder on Broadway
A Columbia academic press convention visit coincides with Broadway's A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Monty Navarro schemes to climb the D Ysquith line through eight murders while wooing Sibella and Phoebe. Jefferson Mays shines by portraying each victim, Jeff Kready excels as Monty, and Scarlett Strallen and Catherine Walker deliver sharp performances. The ice skating scene delivers crude humor and strong crowd reaction. The lesson is that avoidance of wrongdoing leads to a happier ending.
