Elyria man defies odds after devastating Avon Lake crash
Matt Gembka of Elyria survived a May 6 2006 car crash in Avon Lake that left him crushed from head to toe. Though his femur ribs and neck were severely damaged and he faced only a 40 percent chance of walking again he now moves with an improvised walker. He rebuilt his life by buying Time-2-Train gym in Lorain and dedicated himself to helping others while urging others not to give up.
