K C Plans Drive For River Trade
Kansas City voters authorized a 300000 bond issue to fund docks wharves and a three million bushel grain elevator on the Missouri River west bank. A $482000 PWA grant and $947000 revenue bonds will retire over 30 years. Potential leases include $60000 yearly by a grain company and $9000 a year by Inland Waterways Corp. The project aims to link inland waterways with regional railroads on a 102 acre site formerly a public dump.
