Ford will spend 2.5 billion to build and expand engines and transmissions in Chihuahua and Guanajuato, creating 3,800 jobs, joining Toyota’s 1 billion plan for a central Mexico factory. BMW Mercedes Nissan Audi also announce multi billion projects as the sector grows on low wages and free trade, with overall investments near 5.5 billion this year.
