A 24-year-old Oberlin man Marvin McIntosh died from a shotgun wound to the abdomen after a shooting at 4:45 p.m. Hollins, 41, of 139 Lincoln St., is charged with first degree murder and held for arraignment. A 20 gauge shotgun was found near the body. Police say Hollins wife Maxine, Lonnie Carter and Snell Anderson were at Hollins’ home when the shooting occurred. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Cowlings Funeral Home.

President Nixon had barred U.S. soldiers in Laos but allowed air and artillery support. B52s flew missions, while Saigon said no U.S. troops were in the valley last night.

An off duty Elyria patrolman, Anthony Logar, 38, was accidentally shot in the left lower leg during the Elyria Police Department annual dinner dance at the Holiday Inn. He was treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital and released. The gun slipped from his waist and discharged as he danced. Department officials said no further investigation will follow.
Six year old Honofre Angel remains comatose and heavily dependent on machines at Children’s Hospital Medical Center Oakland as doctors report signs of brain activity and no obvious brain damage. He was bitten by a rabid dog in Mexico. the other known survivor is Michael Winkler who got post exposure vaccine.
