Tansey urges Route 2 bypass before I-480 link
Vermilion state representative Marie Tansey says completing Route 2 around Huron should be the first priority for a north south route from Lorain to I 480. She notes funding delays and environmental concerns but supports both projects if funds allow. The plan, backed by the Lorain County airport authority and local chambers, would tie Route 2 to the Ohio Turnpike with bridges over wetlands and a price tag near 50 to 55 million.

Judge McGettrick tied to bribe probe in murder case
Cleveland judge James J McGettrick faced bribery charges after an undercover probe traced a $5000 payment for fixing an aggravated murder case involving Hell s Angels member Frank Fencl. Documents say an off duty federal agent met him at a Rocky River restaurant and later recovered marked bills at his home. The 67 year old was arrested in his chambers and released on bond as a preliminary hearing nears. The affidavit notes McGettrick claimed more money was owed and admitted “stuck his neck out” to fix cases. Page A4 turn.
