Pulitzer poet Gwendolyn Brooks to read at LCCC theater
Pulitzer winner Gwendolyn Brooks will read her poetry Tuesday at 8 pm in Lorain County Community College Stocker Center theater. The event follows her 1950 Annie Allen prize and Shelly Memorial Award. tickets cost 50 cents for seniors and $1 for the public.

Brook Park attorney rejected for diversion program
Elizabeth Cox of Brook Park, charged with theft of $29,913 from the Avon estate of John Gnora Jr., had her application denied for the prosecutor's screening and diversion program. Bowdler, director, said the review concluded with denial. Cox was arraigned before Judge Floyd D. Harris after being indicted February 10. The estate, appraised at $39,089, was left to Gnora Jr.’s son Gary. Cox served as administrator and her husband faced estate attorney duties. The loss was bonded. The case now proceeds to trial with a date to be set.
