TVA Chief Counsel Defends Flood Control Project
Covington Kentucky April 16 James L Ely chief of counsel for the Tennessee Valley Authority defended TVA in the United States Circuit Court of Appeals in a two hour argument. He urged dismissal of a federal injunction that has halted the southern project since December 22. The injunction, issued by Judge John J Gore of Tennessee, affects 19 power companies. Ely argued the program’s purpose was flood control and that poor development followed as a natural result.
