Spain Plans Gibraltar Strait Tunnel Link to Africa
Spain moves toward resuming studies for a two kilometer long tunnel under the Strait of Gibraltar. The Spanish end sits at Punta Pena and the African end at Punta Allares in Morocco. Three parallel galleries will be built with a drainage tunnel and concrete tubes designed to resist sea pressure.
