Chicago federal agents arrested John G. Grunau president of the Chicago Yardmen's Association and six others as they addressed a meeting of strikers. The across the nation rail strike shows mixed progress with layoffs in Ohio and Michigan and varying conditions in New York and the Pacific Coast.
Lorain Ohio April 15 Many carloads of unloaded foodstuffs held up here. Lorain County Electric Co. serving Lorain, Elyria, Amherst, South Amherst, Cleveland Quarry. Company will be compelled to close down the middle of next week due to electricity shortages.
Six officials of insurgent railway unions were arrested by U S Marshals on warrants from U S Commissioner Mason charging violation of the Lever Act. Warrants were issued for 24 others led by figures named in the insurgent strike. Names tied to yardmen and engine workers include Joseph Scott, A W Cassiday, Martin J Kenney, W Larabell, Fred L Schultz, and Mike Leeligas. Arraignments were expected before Commissioner Mason.
In Cleveland union and brotherhood officials predicted the strike would end within days as some strikers returned to work. Local B R T members vote at noon on a return to service while federal agents probe responsibility. Reports said a federal mediator neared Cleveland for a mass meeting of strikers as freight movement improved.
Columbus officials predict settlement action for the yardmen's strike as the newly formed Columbus yardmen's association fields demands for recognition. Strikers held an executive session this morning and were expected to return to work with national officers handling recognition and grievances.
Pittsburgh, April 10. W. Foster, longtime steel strike figure named in Washington as the prime mover behind the outlaw railroad strike, was located here today.

Little June Elizabeth Schlieper, four days old and daughter of Mr and Mrs Marcus H Schlieper, Oberlin Road, died Tuesday. She was buried this afternoon from Friday Funeral Parlors.
Jeffer son county jail holds 26 year old Je. O Miller of Akron after he publicly confessed to killing eleven year old Frances South. The disclosure came during a Beach Bottom revival at a West Virginia church where Miller prayed for mercy and told all to God before being taken to the sheriff.
At a Rotary Club gathering in Elyria members reviewed the Toledo conference. Dr Saunders spoke of social events and a suicide incident at Becker Hotel. L. J. Lewellen and Bill Leedale were in Hudson Ohio when Leedale’s car was rammed by a touring car. Lewellen was cut about the face as the other vehicle struck the roadside, the touring car owner and insurer settling the damage. Leedale’s car required further repairs and is back in the shop.
