Rutgers team accepts Imus apology after national furor
Rutgers University Scarlet Knights women basketball coach C Vivian Stringer said the team accepted radio host Don Imus apology and forgave, while calling his comments unacceptable. The players met Imus and his wife amid protests and CBS termination, as Stringer urged change and tolerance. Deirdre Imus said Imus feels remorse and asked how to fix the hurt, while the team received hundreds of supportive emails and reiterated no desire to see him fired.
