Avon Lake Chorale performs at Carnegie Hall in New York
Avon Lake High School Chorale under William Turkey visited New York City for two Carnegie Hall concerts on March 29 after an Ohio trip that began in January in Columbus. The group performed Mozart and Palestrina plus Nystedt, joined with Tennessee and North Carolina choirs under Eph Ehly, then toured sights like the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building. The trip was funded by students and the Avon Lake Chorale Music Boosters, with no Board provided funds.

Edison High wins Firelands Challenge title in March rounds
Edison High School captured the Firelands Challenge series with a total 123 points after three rounds. Huron placed second with 112 points, Perkins finished third with 107. Edison earned a 1500 prize from sponsor Tennace Automotive plus a 1000 scholarship for a graduating senior to attend Firelands College next year.
