Elbert Jr. proposes College Green with 65 acres for single family homes and 10 acres for commercial use on 74 acres, totaling about 50 million dollars. The commercial core at Abbe Road and Antioch Drive includes a 24 hour grocery, appliance store, restaurant, shoe repair and savings and loan. Construction timing depends on weather with 208 residential lots planned and half reserved for Elbert’s company.

Parkway considers sixth option for East River Parkway plan
About 100 eastside Elyria residents packed city hall to hear five proposed routes for the East River Parkway and learn of a sixth option to do nothing. Richland Engineering presented four construction options under 3.7 million, one at 6.7 million, with environmental studies to follow. right-of-way costs were pending. No decision was made, as City Council must choose a plan and outline an environmental impact study.

Gasoline prices inch up amid Sohio Shell increases
A Lorain County survey finds regular gas averaging 75 cents a gallon with stations ranging from 71.9 to 79.9 cents. Teamsters drift back to work after tentative pact
