Couple Dead in Albion Fire Investigated as Murder Suicide
Investigators in Ashland County say a fire that destroyed the Kauls home near Albion was arson. Howard Leith reports the couple were shot during the incident with Mary Alice Kaul found shot twice in the downstairs bathroom and William J. Kaul shot in the head. A 38 caliber revolver was recovered from the upstairs debris.

Ford Lorain plant idle as truckers' lockout halves production
Ford Motor Co Lorain assembly line idled by a lockout from several long distance trucking firms since Monday. The plant paused 2400 passenger line today tomorrow and Friday until parts deliveries resume. About 600 workers on the commercial line stay on the job.
