Hydrants Not Active Despite Installed Water Line
Spring Valley Country Club had a six inch water line and two hydrants for fire protection last year but water was never turned on from the Gulf Road main. A routine Elyria Township Fire Department inspection found no water in the hydrants, revealing unpaid hydrant rentals and a dispute over who should turn on the water. Safety Director Richard Laux ordered immediate activation after Spring Valley officials paid the due amount. Chief Dell Cromling noted inspections are part of hazard checks and territory familiarization.
