Washington AP reports mixed results from Mondays Treasury auction. The Treasury sold 13.8 billion in three month bills at 5.03 percent discount, down from 5.07 percent. Six month bills totaling 1.36 billion carried 5.19 percent, up from 5.06 percent. Actual returns understate by 5.16 percent for the three month and 5.40 percent for the six month bill.
A Creston auction Monday sold 246 consignors and 887 stock items. Top hogs brought 47.50 to 53.60 per cwt, cows 27.50 to 40, and bulls up to 42. Feeder pigs sold 11 to 58.50, veal calves 70 to 590, yearlings 134, and sheep and goats also listed. Hay and straw prices were 50 to 75 per ton and 55 to 65 per ton respectively.
